About Wall Art Vinyl
Wall art vinyl decals are cut from solid rolls of colored vinyl in the same method that vinyl for signs, banners, laptops, doors, windows, vehicles, etc etc is cut. Whereas those other applications use glossy vinyl, wall vinyl has a matte finish.
To cut the vinyl, we take a vectorized design in Adobe Illustrator and export it to CutStudio, which then sends the information to a Roland GX-24 vinyl cutter/plotter, which moves the roll of vinyl back and forth as it moves a tiny blade left and right, quickly cutting the shapes and text.
Next, the vinyl must be "weeded." Weeding is the removal of the negative pieces of the design. Cut vinyl is composed of two layers, the adhesive thin colored vinyl and its backing. A small pointed tool and very fine point tweezers are used to remove the appropriate pieces. Once it is weeded, application tape is applied to the entire piece. It is now ready for shipping and installation.
Wall art vinyl is a great way to decorate surfaces in your house. Applying the vinyl only takes a few moments and lasts indefinitely once properly installed.
We cut all vinyl on demand as ordered. We can also cut any custom design if you send it to us. Check our custom wall art ordering page if you are interested in that.
